Los Angeles police sought a driver who crashed into a fire hydrant and a utility pole in Shadow Hills today, causing a geyser and knocking down power lines.
The wreck in the 9800 block of Sunland Boulevard was reported about 2 a.m., Capt. Antoine McKnight of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The driver fled before authorities arrived, a desk officer at Valley Traffic Division said.
The car was impounded, he said.
